The Saint Joseph School and Parish community joins together in prayerful remembrance of Mrs. Marcelle Doherty, whose life and ministry touched the hearts of countless students, families, and parishioners. Mrs. Doherty devoted herself wholeheartedly to the mission of sharing the love of Christ, and her legacy of faith will continue to illuminate our halls for generations to come.
For many years, Mrs. Doherty served as our Religious Education Director and Pastoral Assistant to Father John, roles through which she guided children and families along their spiritual journey with compassion, wisdom, and unwavering dedication. Whether preparing students to receive their sacraments, supporting altar servers, or collaborating with teachers and parish staff, she brought a deep sense of purpose to every moment of her ministry.
Mrs. Doherty had a special gift for connecting with young people. She inspired our students not only to learn about their faith, but to live it—to grow in love, service, and discipleship. Her joyful spirit, gentle encouragement, and high expectations helped form young hearts and minds, leaving an imprint that extends far beyond the walls of our school.
Generations of Saint Joseph School children came to know Christ more deeply because of her guidance. Families found in her a steadfast companion, one who walked beside them during the most sacred moments of their lives. She served our community with grace, humility, and a profound devotion to the Gospel.
As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the tremendous light she brought to our church and school. Her faith was constant, her compassion genuine, and her commitment to her ministry unwavering. Mrs. Doherty reminded us, through both her words and her actions, what it truly means to serve God by serving others.
We give thanks to God for the gift of her life and the blessing of her presence among us. May we honor her memory by continuing the work she loved—teaching the faith, uplifting one another, and walking in the peace of Christ.
May Mrs. Doherty rest in God’s eternal embrace, and may her legacy of faith continue to guide our community.
