Inclement Weather

Saint Joseph School  generally follows  the decision of the Carteret Board of Education concerning school closings and early dismissals, but when necessary will make a solo decision for school closings or delayed openings based on the saftey of the Saint Joseph School faculty, students, and school building due to extenuating circumstances. When weather or emergency conditions necessitate a delayed opening of the school or that the school be closed for the day a notification will be issued. Notifications will be sent out via the Swift 12 Alert system.

If your district has delayed opening for the public school students, your transportation to Saint Joseph School will be delayed. Your child will not be marked late because of such a delay. On days that our school has a delayed opening, we will begin school at 9:15am unless otherwise stated.

If for any emergency reason it should become necessary to dismiss the students prior to the regular dismissal time, notification will be sent out via the Swift 12 Alert System.

On delayed opening days, please arrive between 9:40am-9:55am unless otherwise noted. There is NO morning care on delayed opening days. Upon entering the school, students will go directly to their classroom. If you arrive via the morning bus, your pick up time will be 2 hours later than the usual time.
