Hello, my name is Mrs. Lara Lorton, and I am excited to teach your children about art!
Art class should be a fun and colorful adventure in creativity and imagination! In class, we have been learning about various artists and works of art, and we have been using this as inspiration to create our own masterpieces. So far this year, St. Joseph School has participated in the Elks Drug Awareness poster contest, the Knights of Columbus "Keep Christ in Christmas" poster contest, and the Diocese of Metuchen's Respect Life poster contest. We are so proud of all of our entrants, and we are happy to announce our winners below!
It has been exciting to nurture and encourage our budding artists to explore and discover their unique artistic talents. As always, my hope is to reach every student, even those who may not love art. I do not expect perfection; I doexpect effort.
I have the following expectations for our students this year:
Act responsibly.
Respect everyone and everything.
Try your hardest.
Let’s enjoy the rest of ourcolorful, creative, and fun year!
“Start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”— St. Francis of Assisi
