Welcome to second grade! We are beginning to explore new learnings in reading, writing, math and science as we enter the 2020-2021 school year. Our goal is to help our students become independent thinkers and learners and to seek knowledge of the world around them. One of the most important understandings we promote is that the family is an integral part of each child's academic, social and emotional progress.
So far this year, we have been introduced to technology, writing, math, social studies and science areas. We recently began our study of Spanish through the Rosetta Stone program. Through daily study and reinforcement, students will acquire competencies that will provide a firm foundation for futher instruction in higher grades. Not only do our students focus on learning in the content areas, but are provided with opportunities to practice new learnings and to utilize strategies to promote their own abilities to problem solve independently.
